About Us: Chapters

LMV's four chapters are entirely volunteer-run and staffed. Three of our chapters are geographically based in northern California and Nevada and run clinic trips to northern Mexico and the Coachella Valley of California (our Oasis program): South Bay Chapter (San Jose, CA); Gold Country Chapter (Auburn, CA); and High Sierra Chapter (Truckee, CA and Reno, NV). A fourth, eponymous chapter focuses on Central America, although it is based in San Jose, CA.

The work of each chapter is governed by a chapter board of directors, who are elected by chapter membership annually, and who coordinate their work under the umbrella of LMV's "corporate" structure. Chapters hold monthly meetings open to all existing and prospective members. These meetings are a working forum to plan upcoming trips and events, review related LMV business, and bond as a group. Chapter administrations also include a range of volunteer positions; for current openings, please take a look at the Chapter Officers & Administration sections on the chapter pages (below) of the chapter you wish to volunteer for.
