How to Share SPOT messages and locations
- login procedures
- Go to www.findmespot.com
- click "My Account" in the upper right
- User name: xxxxxx
- password: xxxxxx
- click Login
- select the tab “Share”
- click “Edit/Manage Shared Page” located on right side
- perform either:
- if you want to add to a given Shared Page (e.g. multiple SPOTs per chapter), select the box to the left of the existing Shared Page, then click "Edit Shared Page"
- or to make a new Shared Page, click "Create Shared Page"
- fill in the requested information and then click "Create"
- enter the address (termed URL) into your Roster record here

- login using procedures outlined above
- select the tab "My GPS Locations"
What to Provide to your Travelers (info for them to leave behind with loved ones)
SPOT tracker shared pages for all active LMV Pilots are available at... flyingdocs.org, black button on the left "Command Central for Trips", in the upper left Monitoring Trip Status click on "Tracking" (normal LMV member login required). Or you can provide your travelers the direct web address of your specific SPOT tracker.
How to USE the SPOT

- To turn ON, press ON/OFF button – unit performs self test
- Green lite above on/off switch blinks every 4 seconds
- Send Check in/OK message after turning unit on
- To activate Check in/OK mode, press OK√ button
- Leave SPOT on with clear view of sky for 20 minutes as message is sent 3 times to www.findmespot.com to ensure it is received.
- Green lite above OK button switch blinks every 3 seconds and will turn solid green for 5 seconds when OK message is sent.
- To activate SPOTcasting mode, press and hold OK√ button for more than 5 seconds.
- SPOT will send out SPOTcasting location messages to www.findmespot.com every 10 minutes for 24 hrs.
- The green lite above the OK√ button will blink every 3 seconds and will turn solid green for 5 seconds when SPOTcasting message is sent.
- To activate HELP message, press and hold HELP button for 2 seconds.
- SPOT will sent the HELP message with your coordinates every 5 minutes for 1 hour to www.findmespot.com
- The green lite above the help button will blink every 3 seconds and turn solid green for 5 seconds when the Help message is sent
- To activate 911 emergency mode, press and hold 911 button for at least 2 seconds.
- A distress message with your SPOT location will be sent every 5 minutes to www.findmespot.com until the 911 mode is cancelled
- The green lite above the 911 button will blink every 3 seconds and turn solid green for 5 seconds when the 911 message is sent.
- To turn SPOT off, press and hold ON/OFF button for 3 seconds
- If light above ON/OFF switch blinks red every 3 seconds, replace the 2 Lithium AA batteries. If light flashes red every second, SPOT failed self test. Contact SPOT.
