LMV Seeks Volunteers

We need volunteers for key chapter administration posts. All of LMV's work is made possible by the leadership and support of the administrative volunteers in each chapter and at the central "corporate" level - our chapter board members, fundraiser event organizers, newsletter editors, membership roster-keepers, and other members who attend meetings and support LMV in myriad ways. For current openings, see the Chapter Officers & Administration sections of our chapter pages.

We also seek healthcare professionals to join our teams on trips to Mexico and Central America. We are most in need of DDS's, MD's (especially in pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, and general practice), and OD's. Read more about volunteer roles for healthcare professionals.

Annual Seminar Strengthens Baja Bonds
Stronger partnerships with village and Baja Sur Ministry of Health representatives resulted from our annual seminar in San Ignacio, Baja California Sur, on October 13, 2006, following LMV clinics in Huásabas (optometric), Guaymas (medical/women's health and optometric), Isla Cedros (dental), and San Ignacio itself (pediatric dental). The 27 US and 20 Mexico participants discussed LMV's enhanced commitment to meeting healthcare and health education needs in six Baja villages through an annual dental clinic in each, supplemented by additional other clinics as time and resources permit. Village representatives asked that future clinics include, in addition to dental and general medical care, optometric, gynecology services and drug and alcohol counseling.
