Los Médicos Voladores(LMV), The Flying Doctors, is a registered 501(c)(3) Medical Mission Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) based in California, USA. LMV provides mobile medical & dental clinics in California, Mexico, Haiti, El Salvador / Latin America, or other areas requesting assistance.
LMV offers short-term assignments for volunteer medical professionals, healthcare support professionals, dental professionals, students, pilots, Spanish language translators and non-medical volunteers to conduct free medical and dental clinics that provide health care and education in areas where it is limited or difficult to obtain.
• LMV makes all arrangements for our volunteers upon arrival to our international destination, including transportation, lodging/meals, government permits, and clinic logistics.
• We secure equipment, supplies, and medicines through partnerships with health and development organizations.
• We provide our services without compensation or discrimination of race, religion, creed, or political affiliation.
During the LMV clinics, we partner with local medical and dental professionals to provide care, and share knowledge about diagnoses and treatment. We also provide community health education so that local people are encouraged to meet their health care needs based on knowledge and education.
OUR MISSION:
Building and Strengthening Underserved Communities through Healthcare, Education and Volunteerism
OUR VISION:
To provide compassionate, professional services to those in need while giving our volunteers the ability to “give back” to the same.

To our Los Médicos Voladores family:
Thanks to all of you who have reached out to us during these uncertain times. We are proud of our LMV volunteers who are helping in numerous ways both locally and internationally.
LMV has also committed to enhancing response efforts in the areas we serve abroad and here at home where possible. To support our local healthcare workers, LMV has donated Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to USA frontline responders who are in need.
During this time LMV is continuing to provide care and support for our local international Haiti, El Salvador and Mexico nurses and doctors. Though our LMV volunteers are not there to provide medical and dental staff and equipment, our local partners on the ground, are continuing to provide services. An example of such, is Nurse Nathalie who is continuing to take Plumpy Nut nutrition packs to the malnourished children in S.E. Haiti. Please consider donating to help us to provide medical and nutrition supplies to our international partners, they are urgently needed. Donate Here
If you are a frontline worker, please share your stories with us. We want to connect and know you are well, as well as help spread the word about the positive difference you are making in your community.
We invite you to visit a brief Covid-19 presentation provided by our Chief Medical Officer, Jonathan Kahn, M.D. “An Ounce of Prevention” . You will find valuable information and links to continue learning about this virus.
Stay safe and stay well,

LMV Flying Doctors
San José de Batuc Once again received free dental care that our communities of San Jose de Batuc and Nuevo Tepupa had not received since their previous visit in 2019. An extraordinary job these two days, April 29 and 30, leave Batuquenses with infinite gratitude because they worked for comply with all the patients mentioned. San José de Batuc recognizes them as VISITORS OF HONOR for their hard humanitarian work for always being our little town of their favorite places to provide us with dental care.
To the entire team of Flying doctor volunteers and those who supported this to be a great success.
Thank you very much
Happy journey
and return to
Saint Joseph of Batuc.
Some ask about the dentistry we find on a Flying Doctors trip to Mexico
Well here’s a case of a 12 year old girl with a badly decayed front tooth. Her pain was so bad she did her own root canal—with a staple! She then closed the access hole with a toothpick. Dr. Michael Britting and Dr Ezekiel removed the staples, completed an apico (an upside-down root canal), and gave her a shiny new composite crown. Nice work guys.
Everyday is such a journey, eh?
There were some really unforgettable moments, like our party on Saturday in Guaymas or when we found a Jeep that got stuck in the ocean and when a truck came to help it, the truck also got stuck in the ocean. Plus, we created inside jokes that are still funny…you know? I had so much more fun than I expected on a volunteer mission. Along came Sunday and we were all ready to say goodbye to Mexico and head back home. We might’ve said goodbye for the moment but I’m sure I will go back again soon…
Michael Martinez
“By nature, I’m not the type to volunteer. But four days in Mexico with LMV had a discernible effect on me. It felt better and more rewarding than a week on the beach in Hawaii. I will definitely return,” Michael Martinez, volunteer
Tom Hogan
“Of all the organizations and charities I’ve been associated with, LMV definitely is the most rewarding experience,” Tom Hogan, volunteer

Joy Koch
“I’d do another LMV trip at the drop of a hat! Having never flown in a private plane before, I was a bit nervous. But the professionalism of our pilot made the entire trip a complete joy,” Dr. Johanna Koch, MD
Bob Horvath
“When you donate to the LMV cause, the fruits of your labor smile back at you,” Bob Horvath, pilot
Adrian Fenderson
“From the second I finish and get home, I start planning the next trip. It’s a real adventure setting up small clinics. You reap rewards of the heart,” Adrian Fenderson, DDS
